Since 2016, we’ve been a trusted part of the Royal Oak and Ferndale communities — originally located in Royal Oak before moving to our cozy, light-filled space in Ferndale in 2022.

We specialize in personalized, lived-in color, custom haircuts, and affirming styles for all. New guests are welcomed with warmth and care, and our kindhearted team is committed to creating a comfortable experience where you feel genuinely seen and celebrated.

We’re also home to Melt Headspa by Mint Hair Crafting — an immersive scalp wellness service inspired by Japanese headspa rituals. Our Signature Melt Headspa treatment offers deep relaxation, gentle scalp massage, and tailored care to support healthy hair and leaves your soul feeling refreshed.

Stacey Rackham

I've had the opportunity to care for so many beautiful people in the 15 years of my career and I'm grateful for the connections I have with guests. I'm always inspired by giving back to the community and I love spending time with my dogs when I'm not working with my team or behind the chair. My favorite services are modern gray blending, modern block color and all hues of reds, brunettes and blondes. My availability can be limited at times and I’m honored to help guests find someone on our team who is a strong fit for them if my schedule doesn't suit theirs.

I am driven by a passion to create. My journey into salon ownership began with a vision to establish a space where salon professionals could excel in their careers and thrive in a supportive environment.

I opened Mint Hair Crafting in 2016 on South Center Street in Royal Oak, MI before relocating to Ferndale in July of 2022. As a young stylist, living in Ferndale, I never thought I could own a salon in such a desirable community and I’m forever grateful for the rare opportunity that I came across in late 2015 as I sought out buildings to bring MHC to life.

I’ve loved cultivating lasting relationships within the community and creating a sense of connection among my team and our guests. I am committed to providing an atmosphere where creativity and skill are nurtured and each stylist has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Mint Hair Crafting is an extension of my heart + soul – a space where professionals thrive, relationships flourish, and we serve the community we live and create in.

Tess Bradley

Director of Education | She/Her
I specialize in gender-affirming guest care and love crafting cuts that celebrate personal style. I’m passionate about transformational haircuts, natural texture, and pairing looks with deep treatments for shine + health. You’ll also find me behind our Signature Melt Headspa, creating space for you to relax and reset.
Outside the salon, I’m a thrifter, festival-goer, and veggie gardener who loves street art, cats, and discovering new foods. Whether you want great conversation or a quiet recharge, I’ll meet you where you are. ✨
Mason Paliewicz

Stylist | They/He
I create a judgment-free space where every guest feels safe, seen, and celebrated. I love shaping hair with thoughtful cuts, modern + classic color, and helping guests embrace their natural texture.
Outside the salon, I’m usually crafting, roller skating, or leading our gender-affirming haircut events supporting Affirmations in Ferndale—a community close to my heart. 🌈✨

I specialize in customized haircuts, bold color, and treatment-based care designed for long-term hair health. As part of Mint’s leadership team, I helped build and launch our Signature Melt Headspa, and I love creating space where every guest feels understood, empowered, and truly cared for.
Nicole Slyvester

Master Colorist | She/Her
I specialize in dimensional color—from soft blonding and lived-in looks to bold fashion tones—with a focus on modern gray coverage and seamless blending. Guests describe me as thoughtful and grounding; whether you’re up for conversation or prefer a peaceful visit, I’ll meet you where you are.
Outside the salon, I spend time with my family and advocate for epilepsy awareness, a cause close to my heart.
Maxwell Galka

Master Hybrid Barber | He/Him
I specialize in precision haircutting, fades and detailed barbering that leave guests looking and feeling their best. With a background in photography, I see every haircut as an art form and pair technique with care to create an exceptional salon experience.
Outside the salon, you’ll find me playing hockey, exploring local shops, and spending time with friends.
Madeline Withun

Stylist, Headspa Wellness + Classic Colorist She/Her
I focus on lived-in color, modern blondes, and customized maintenance plans that keep hair healthy and beautiful. I also love creating flattering, easy-to-wear cuts that fit your lifestyle.
Since 2015, my favorite part of this career has been building real connections with guests—supporting your goals, sharing laughs, and making every visit feel restorative.
Outside the salon, I volunteer at an equine shelter, garden, practice yoga, and enjoy Michigan summers with my family.

I love creating all shades of blonde and building genuine relationships that help my guests feel confident and cared for. As a certified Paul Mitchell colorist, I’m passionate about healthy, customized results and continually growing my craft.
Outside the salon, you’ll find me playing guitar in my indie band, Twin Dear, hanging with my dogs, practicing yoga, or cooking up new vegan recipes. Fun fact: my go-to karaoke song is Linger by The Cranberries. 🎶✨
